The holidays can mean a lot of things: time spent with loved ones, beautiful decorations, indulging in delicious food. For some people the holidays also mean lots of traveling. And traveling, whether by plane, train, or automobile, can be incredibly stressful when you eat a real food diet, especially when you also have allergies. And no one wants to spend hours in the kitchen prepping food to take on their trip when they also have to pack, take the dogs to the kennel, run last minute errands, etc. Worrying about what you are going to eat doesn’t have to add an extra layer of stress on top of all the other things you have to do before your trip.
It is December 16th and I have yet to bake any cookies this holiday season. Sure I’ve made homemade white chocolate and some peppermint bark but that doesn’t count because they aren’t cookies. I set out to fix this predicament this past weekend, except once I got done making these cookies I realized that I hadn’t actually “baked” anything still since these are no bake cookies. Oh well!
I cannot believe that Halloween is on Friday! How the heck did that happen? My husband and I aren’t big Halloween fans. We never dress up or go to parties or decorate or anything like that. It’s just not our thing. But we do like to carve pumpkins. Neither my husband or I are very artistic so when my husband busted out a super awesome Olaf pumpkin the other day I was seriously impressed! Olaf as in the snowman from Frozen. I stuck with the Disney theme and made a Little Mermaid pumpkin, mostly because all the stencils I found for Belle looked WAY too hard.
Have you ever watched the show The Following? My husband and I watched roughly half of the first season when it first came on but it was a little intense for me so we eventually just stopped watching. I figured I had enough stressors in my life without adding a completely unnecessary one from a television show. Well, it’s on Netflix now and my husband started watching it this past Friday since he had a four day weekend this weekend for Columbus Day and was home all day by himself. (I know, not fair right?!?!) He was watching it again this morning when I got home from yoga and it was totally distracting! Here I am trying to get ready for work and I was already running late, like really really late, and I can’t stop watching the TV!
