My husband is a genius when it comes to grilling burgers. He makes the juiciest and most delicious burgers. And it’s for that reason that I put burgers on our weekly meal plan almost every week! That and the fact that pretty much the only time he helps with the cooking is if there is grilling involved.
He used to make burgers that, although very tasty, contained some not so Kiersten-friendly ingredients like beef bouillon cubes (can you say MSG?) and other not so wholesome ingredients. So in an attempt to clean up the burger recipe, after a little trial and error we came up with this burger recipe and I can honestly say it’s the best burger I’ve had! It has the perfect balance of flavor where there is enough to add some spice to the beef, but not so much so that it masks the flavor of the meat itself. It is also incredibly easy. No bread crumbs or fancy flours required!
First you’re going to want to combine your seasonings in a small bowl.
Then you mix the meat, eggs, and seasonings together in a large mixing bowl. Really get in there with your hands to ensure everything gets mixed together completely.
We all know how important it is to have burgers that are roughly the same size to ensure even cooking once you get them on the grill. My husband has a great trick to get all the burgers the same size! You just spread the meat evenly onto a cutting board and divide the meat into 8 equal portions with a knife.
Then you take each portion and form it into a patty. Easy peasy!
Then as you put the burgers on the grill, make a small indent in the center of the patty with your thumb. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side and you’re good to go!
- 2 lb ground beef
- 2 eggs
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1½ tsp ground pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp coriander
- ¼ tsp cayenne
- Preheat grill to medium heat (about 325 degrees)
- Place all ingredients in a large bowl
- Mix with hands until thoroughly combined
- Spread meat evenly onto a large cutting board or cookie sheet and divide into equal ¼ pound sections
- Take each section one at a time and form into a patty
- Press the center of the patty down slightly with your thumb
- Place burgers onto grill, close lid and cook for 5 minutes
- Flip burgers and cook for an additional 4 minutes

We served ours with some homemade mayo and a little of what we like to call “awesome sauce” and your typical lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle. But you could top these burgers with anything and I’m pretty sure they’d still taste great! Try these and I’m sure you’ll see why they are a weekly staple in our house!

In vibrant health,
